Serengeti Park Entry Fees
Entrance fees to Serengeti National Park is based on the residency status of the tourist visiting the park. There are three park fee tiers in addition to Peak and Low Season rates. East Africa Citizens, Residents and Non - Residents ( Foreign Tourists). East Africa Citizens refers to Tanzania Citizens with a valid National ID or Tanzanian Passports as well as citizens of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan in possesion of valid Passports. Residents refer to persons of any nationality residing in Tanzania with valid documentation from the Tanzanian government while the last category, "Non Residents" or "Foreign Tourists" refers to foreign visitors who do not reside in Tanzania.
The Park Entry Fees to Serengeti National Park for Non-Residents ( Foreign Tourists) is USD 70 per adult per 24 hours during Peak season (16th May - 14th March) and USD 60 per adult per 24 hours during Low season (15th March - 15th May). Children ages 5 years upto 15 years pay USD 20 per 24 hours during Peak or Low season. Please note these rates are subject to 18% VAT.
Children under the age of 5 years are allowed entry free of cost.

Apart from the Park Fees there is also Concession Fees which is applicable for tourists staying at any Camp, Lodge or Hotel located inside Serengeti National Park. During Peak season ( July to September), the hotel concession fee for foreign tourists staying in Serengeti is USD 60 per adult per 24 hours and USD 10 per child ( 5 years to 15 years) per 24 hours. During Low season ( October to June ), the hotel concession fee for foreign tourists staying in Serengeti is USD 50 per adult per 24 hours and remains USD 10 per child ( 5 years to 15 years) per 24 hours. 18% VAT is applicable on all of these rates above.
In summary and just as an example, a foreign tourist or visitor staying at a hotel ( Lodge or Camp) inside Serengeti National Park during Peak season would pay USD 70 (park fee) + USD 60 (Concession Fee) + 18% VAT = USD 153.40 per adult per 24 hours.
In case you are wondering how much it costs to go to Serengeti National Park for a tour, most Serengeti National Park Safari packages already include the entry fee for tourists so do confirm with your tour operator. Fly~In Safaris are the exception as the fee is usually payable upon landing. How to Pay / Mode of Payment : Payment in Cash US Dollars or Tanzania Shillings is accepted at the entry gates. Cashless modes are also typically accepted and you can pay via Visa & Mastercard. Nationals of other East Africa Countries member states must produce their passport at entry gate to avail the cheaper E.A rates.

**EA Resident rates are applicable to residents of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. Visitors are required to present their National ID (for Tanzanian citizens) or Passport displaying Work permits or appropriate Visas to prove resident status upon entrance into the reserve. Visitors without a valid passport are required to pay the non-resident rates.

Park Rules
Rules are intended to ensure that visitors enjoy a superior safari experience without endangering themselves or the wildlife of the Serengeti National Park. Please respect the rules and our rangers who are there to protect visitors, the wildlife and the environment.
Below are Park Rules and Regulations:
- Driving in the park is allowed between 6 am and 6 pm only.
- The speed limit in the parks is 50km/h and 25km/h in Serengeti National Park.
- Animals always have the right of way.
- Never feed animals. It will upset their diet and lead to an unnecessary dependence on people.
- Keep to the authorized tracks only.
- Do not pick, cut or destroy any vegetation or remove any object of biological interest, including eggs, bones and trophies.
- Camping is allowed only in designated sites.
- Picnicking is allowed only at designated sites.
- Do not disturb or harass the wildlife in any way. Radios and music players are forbidden. Please do not imitate animal’s sounds, clap or pound on vehicle or hoot. Do not throw objects to attract animal’s attention.
- Do not litter. Keep your waste in the vehicle until it can be properly disposed later at your lodge or camp. Litter can choke or poison animals and birds.
- Do not smoke while on game drive and always dispose cigarettes carefully. A burning cigarette can start a wild fire that would cause damage to vegetation and suffering to wildlife and people.
- Do not light or cause fire to be lit. If camping, be sure to extinguish your fire carefully.
- All visitors must remain in their vehicle within 200 meters of any game animal. Leaving the vehicle in the parks is forbidden except in designated places.
- Discourage your driver from approaching the animals too close (25 meters). Lions, cheetahs and leopards are especially nervous; a vehicle can hinder their hunting or make them leave a hard earned meal. Your driver may be banned from the area and/or lose his job.
- Domestic pets are forbidden in the parks.
- It’s is not allowed to use/operate drones in any park.
Leave the park undisturbed by not leaving or removing anything, animate or inanimate.
Our eco-system depends on a very delicate balance. The less we disturb it the longer we can enjoy it.
